I've always enjoyed mixing paint colors and find it really relaxing and meditative. The joy and fun of mixing different colors to see what happens has always intrigued me. I remember having to make color wheels for art class in middle school and high school and was always so excited to see the colors and how they turned out. Doing a color wheel and a grid sheet with your different types of paints gives you a wonderful chart to look at and ingredient list to go by. Here is a chart I recently made for a class I am taking along with my ice cream lid palette because I like to be frugal and use what I have.
I plan on taking my other paints and creating a grid for each type of paint that I have and working on a nice grid that I can hang up or put in a binder for easy access so I know what colors to mix to create a specific color. This can be done with your crafting supplies too. For example, if you have ink pads, you could have a chart with the brand name, the color, and then stamp out the image to see the true color of the ink. Another chart idea is glitter glue, your markers, and even your colored pencils.
Post below if you have charts for your crafty items and tell us how you chart your items!
Have a great day!
I hope you all are having a wonderful day today. I come to you today to share with you a new experience I had. Hand lettering has always been a dream of mine to master. I would see beautiful sentiments and sayings in hand lettering and wish that I could do that too. Well, today was the day I finally tried it out for the first time and enjoy it so much!
Materials I used was a sketch book and some brush pens which are Watercolor Dual Tip Markers from Michaels. Search on YouTube for Hand Lettering and there are a bunch of videos and tutorials out there to help you along but the biggest takeaway and advice that I can give is to be light and thin on the up strokes and heavier and thicker on the down strokes. That's really it! So simple! I have made a point to practice a little each day and eventually start putting together words and phrases and try with other mediums too.
Post below and let me know if you have done hand lettering before or if you want to learn how too!
Have a wonderful day!
Welcome to my blog! I am so excited that you are here. A little bit about me. I love crafting of any type and dabble in lots of crafts like painting, drawing, card making, and mixed media. I love to try out and use any type of medium to see how it works, plus it's a great way to find out what your favorite medium is to work with.
I love to draw and make patterns so I decided to make stencils from my patterns hence the website to share my love of art and mixed media. This is a home business that I do in my spare time for now and I go to my happy place when I start designing and crafting. My site and products are still a work in progress but everything will be up and running soon!
Have a wonderful day!
Crafting has always been a passion of mine since a child. I love photography, painting, drawing, stamping, mixed media, and browsing other sites for ideas. My passion is also in horticulture so I love to grow my own fruits and vegetables and houseplants.
