Birthday Cards

2/16/2019

Good evening!  I have 3 different birthday cards with the same setup.  I used Unity Stamp Company stamps.  I used the same technique for each one.
I first cut out the card base panels out of  white cardstock and a metal die.

I then then took each stamp set and placed it in my misti to stamp to make sure I stamped out a nice clean image.  I used amalgam ink from gina k. Designs which is an ink you can use with Copics or watercolors without it smearing.

Unity Stamp Company has some amazing rubber stamp images to choose from and they are superior quality!  Here are the other two images.

Once all the images were stamped, I colored them with my copic markers.  I normally would not used carstock but a marker paper but I needed get these together quickly so I used what I had on hand.  Marker paper provides for better blending and doesn't absorb as much ink.  I have provided a picture of the Copic markers I used for each image below.

Next I adhered each panel with my Beacon glue to kraft colored card bases.  I added some sequins to two of the cards since they were for two young girls.  Here are the finished cards.

Have a wonderful evening.

Foiling Fun

With Valentine's just around the corner, I tried out some foiling on my own and fell in love!  It creates the most beautiful backgrounds.  I used the Deco Foil Transfer Gel and my stencils from the shop to make my own backgrounds but you can also buy printed paper that you can foil on if you don't want to go through that process.
I first cut out some cardstock using a Gina Marie Designs die in a couple different sizes.  You could do this after also, it just personal preference.

I then took the Deco Foil Transfer Gel and used a palette knife to apply over the stencil.  I first taped with washi tape my paper if needed and then taped the stencil on top so it wouldn't move around.  I put the excess gel back in the jar and removed the stencil.  I would advise having a pan or bowl of water with a little soap to clean the stencil right away.  I waited a little too long and it dried on the stencil.

I had a couple different stencils that I used for this process.  Once I applied all the gel, I set all the paper aside to dry until the gel was clear and dry which was about an hour.

Here are the different Deco Foils I used.  They come in a plastic tube with 5 sheets and are 6" x 12" in size.  There are so many pretty colors to choose from!

Next you cut the foil sheet down so it's a little bigger than the sheet you are going to foil.  I just lay my paper over the foil and then cut it out.

Next you take your paper and place the foil so the color is facing away from the gel, seems backwards but this is how it adheres to the gel.  Then take either some copy paper or parchment paper and fold it over both like a sandwich so it covers them.  This is so the foil does not get jammed in your laminator.  Pictured below is a sheet from Gina K. Designs Foil-Mates.  You can purchase these if you don't have your own designs or stamps to use with the transfer gel or you want to use their images, which are gorgeous!

Next step is to run it through your laminator.  Any lamintor should work just fine.  Make sure to put the folded end in the laminator first so it does not get jammed.
Picture
Once it comes through the other end, take it out and I let it cool for a couple minutes.  You can then peel off the foil from the paper and reveal the foiled image!

You can use these backgrounds for shaker cards or as a background and stamp an image on another piece of paper and cut it out.  There are so many options.
I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Birthday Card

2/1/2019

Good Morning!  I wanted to share with you a quick and easy birthday card I made for my mom.  I took a small panel of regular white cardstock and cut it down to size to fit on the card base.  I used gina k. amalgam ink to stamp my image.  This ink is amazing because you can then watercolor right over it or use your alcohol markers and the ink won't smear!  I used a rubber stamp from Unity Stamp Company called Yet to Be and the Happy Birthday sentiment was in my Unity grab bag from an order so I'm not sure what set that is from.  I used Copic markers in a light floral color to color in the image and a very light gray to add background around the image.  I then adhered the panel to the card base using Beacon 3 in 1 glue.  You can add more embellishments and ribbon but I chose to make it very simplistic.

I hope you all have a wonderful day!
