Today I have a valentine card to share with you. I used some embossing folders, a stamp, and one of my new stencil designs. Valentine's Day is just around the corner! I love the reds, pinks, and white that are associated with this day. I embossed some card stock with Sizzix Embossing folders to give dimension and used my Cuttlebug for this process. Once I was done embossing, I cut down the cards stock so it would fit nicely on the card base. Next I glued down the pink embossed card stock to the card base using Beacon 3-IN-1 Glue. You can find it in any craft store. I absolutely love this glue because it does not wrinkle the paper and you can adjust the paper before it's permanent. I then cut a piece of white card stock to frame the red card stock sentiment. I then glued this down on the card. Once everything was adhered, I used the point of my scissors to punch a hole on the crease of the card to insert some decorative string. Use caution when doing this so you don't cut yourself or your table. I cut the string so it would be long enough to insert through the hole and tie around into a bow on the front of the card. I then cut off the extra string length. I put a small bead of glue under the knot of the bow to keep it in place. I used a Unity Stamp Company stamp from the Kit of the Month for December 2017 for the sentiment inside the card and jet black StazOn Ink. I used the stencil called Arrows to create a pattern on the back of the envelope. I grabbed some gold and raspberry spray inks from Heidi Swapp. I sprayed the ink randomly to make a pattern, let it dry, and then stamped the same sentiment that is on the inside of the card on the back flap of the envelope. Here is a quick tip with the stencils. Once you have sprayed the stencil, one way to re-purpose the ink on the stencil is to grab some card stock or paper of choice and flip the stencil over onto the card stock and rub the stencil down on the paper to transfer the ink. Now you have a new background for a project. Once done with the stencil, rinse it off with water and rub gently to remove the ink and let dry. Thank you for stopping by! Go ahead and check out the shop for the new Valentine stencil designs. Have a great day! Naomi

Happy New Year and welcome to 2018! I have a quick and easy birthday card to share with you today. This card was made for a friend that has a birthday on New Year's Eve so I kept the colors and theme with gold, black, white, and some shimmer and shine. I first found a gold card and cut down a white piece of card stock to place on top once decorated. Next I found some sentiments that were fitting, placed them on the acrylic block, inked them up and stamped on the card stock. I was able to place all three stamps at once since they were the same depth. I had purchased some clearance washi tape that was a Christmas theme but had a bunch or rolls together so some were patterns and can be used for anytime of the year. I like the thin washi tape for this process. Next I just started to lay the tape down randomly without covering up the words. I placed some pop-dots on the back of the card stock panel to raise it up off the card. To finish off the card, I decorated the front and back of the envelope with washi tape.
Thank you for taking a look at my project! Have a wonderful day! Naomi |
